What's next? What are your plans after graduation? Do you know what you want to do? Just like any soon-to-be college graduate, Justin & I got asked a lot of questions regarding our future. Our answers changed so much over the course of the last few months. At first, we told people it was between podiatry school, playing overseas, or the NBA. Then it was narrowed down to playing basketball overseas or the NBA. Now we're going for it & hoping for the NBA! From January until March we met with several agencies & amazing people (over Zoom & in person) that were invested in our future and saw Justin playing basketball at the next level. We needed to commit to an agency so we would know where we would be living for summer training & could be prepared to meet with NBA teams. One day we thought we were moving to Arizona for the summer and the next it was Texas, Maryland, or Chicago. After a lot of prayer, pondering, & going to the temple we decided to go with Priority Sports, an agency in Chicago. We love them! Everyone in the office is incredible & personable. Our agent, Ross, has been giving us food recommendations in the city & we feel so blessed to be able to work with this team of people.
Right now, we're living on North Wells Street in downtown Chicago & it's been so, so fun. Every single day at some point Justin will look out our window & tell me it looks like we're living in a Star Wars movie. I can't believe we're here! It was a big jump to go straight from Logan, UT to the city but we're doing it & I'm so proud of us. We'll be here for a few more weeks before Justin will begin regular workouts with different NBA teams. That will go from the middle of May until June 23, Draft Night! During those workout weeks we'll be living in Oklahoma & Santaquin to be with family.
A couple of months ago, I was giving a leadership training to student athletes from Green Canyon high school. We asked them what it means to be authentic. One boy shared that it means to walk the talk. You live how you talk. Right now we're walking the talk. We've been planning and discussing this for sooo many months and here we are!! I want to enjoy each day of what's ahead because I know these opportunities are so unique to us & I want to be present for them.
