We had some special visitors last month & loved every second of having them here with us!! The sun was even out all week & we had some nice fall days with no jackets.
Logan warmed right up to Mema and Papa as soon as they walked in the door & wasted no time introducing them to his books, drums, and playing peek-a-boo behind the curtains.
They were troopers! After about 24 hours of travel, landing at 8 AM, they stayed up all day and were ready for Justin's game that night. It was so fun getting to go to his games together. Justin's schedule had him home all week & we got to see three games.
Got to eat our German dinners in the VIP lounge before the games & Logan loved sitting in the booth, reading and eating with his grandparents.
Some rare photos of Logan keeping his headphones on... That kid!! It is SO loud in that arena and Logan swipes those things off of his ears any chance he gets. Having good company and snacks seemed to help.
One of my favorite pictures. <3 There was no chance of getting that baby to look at the camera. He was too excited to see his dad.
One of our first stops was the cute clock/nativity shop to get a cuckoo clock to match Grandma Hart's in Idaho. They packed that beautiful clock up nice and snug for the plane ride back to Oklahoma.
Snapped this picture which reminded me of...
THIS! Sweet, tiny boy eight months ago.
We seriously hit the jackpot with the weather. It's pretty rare to have this much sun in Berlin during the fall & we soaked up as much vitamin D as possible!
A necessary stop. The most amazing donuts in the world! Pistachio, Bienenstich, pumpkin pie, peanut butter, Boston cream pie, and more flavors of donuts, fillings, toppings, etc. YUM.
My favorite lighting in the morning. <3
Got to go out and explore the city while Justin was at practice. The last time Gordon and Shauna were here, it was well below freezing and not super enjoyable to be out and about. This time, we enjoyed our walk through the Brandenburg Gate down to the Soviet Memorial.
There were tourists everywhere, live music, and some currywurst to go around!
We watched Reagan the night before and it made standing in this spot a lot more meaningful. Where President Reagan had the courage to say, "Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Such a powerful movie & humble man.
We had full days of card games, outdoor walks, basketball, good conversations, recipes made, treats ordered, shows watched, and enjoying being together. It went by so fast but we made every moment count and couldn't ask for anything more than that!
Our favorite guy. <3
Got to do the Berlin river cruise with all of the beautiful leaves!! It was gorgeous & we dropped a few pins along the way for some new walking/running routes.
Logan's Christmas came early and he opened some new blocks from Mema and Papa!
On our last night, we headed out for a gelato run & stocked up on German chocolate and gummies to send back home to the States.
& it was time to say bye to these two who we love SO MUCH. Germany will miss you and we can't wait to get you back here next year!
