One Year Old!!

Logan is one year old!! Parts of this year definitely passed faster than others. I think the first four months were pretty hard trying to figure out how to care for and give this baby everything he needed. Now we're here, one year later, and having so much fun.

& one year of being a mother. I love being Logan's mom. I've never done anything so fulfilling, tiring, or full of joy. He's our little boy who Heavenly Father trusted Justin & I to nurture and raise. What an amazing calling in life.

Having a front row to see Justin as a dad has been pretty awesome too. Forever grateful we get to do this parenting thing together!

Logan is pure JOY. Always smiling, laughing, and moving all over.

Things Logan loves:

Saranoni blanket, stuffed monkey named Ooh Ooh Ah Ah, blueberries, water, Old McDonald had a Farm, The Wheels on the Bus, FaceTiming grandparents, BOOKS, building cup and block towers, opening any and every drawer, playing "where's Logan" behind the curtains, sneaking into the guest room to strum the guitar, playing his drums, dancing to Who Let the Dogs Out, and any baby or other child he sees.

He honestly gets so excited when he sees a baby or little kid. His voice gets really high and he starts to smile, laugh, and talk to them. Most babies are too young to acknowledge him, and other kids are to old to care for a one-year-old but that doesn't stop Logan from trying to talk to them. It's SO cute.

I met a woman from Armenia at the park who told me about an English baby music class. Logan loves his music more than anyone I know. Before Alexa can begin playing the song, he's already swaying back and forth.

We went for our first time the day after his birthday and it was a hit. There were five other babies his age crawling around and shaking rattles with music and singing. I couldn't think of a better place for Logan. He talked and laughed to himself the whole drive home. Definitely going back asap!

It was so fun for me too to connect with other moms in similar stages as me. I met ladies from Syria, South Africa, and other parts of Germany. Berlin is a true melting pot!

Pretty leaves still hanging on in certain parts of the city.

We got to celebrate with some of our Brazilian family a few days earlier and I think the Aversas might love Logan as much or more than we do. ;)

& Justin was there to celebrate with us!!! (blessings of a broken wrist)

We really haven't given Logan any dessert except for a few licks of ice cream and pieces of a cinnamon roll. When he had his birthday cake in front of him, he didn't know what to do with all of that goodness. He picked up the whole piece and held it in front of his nose for about 50 seconds, inhaling and exhaling. Ha!

Guess you have to use all of your senses to enjoy the good things of life. He ate it up pretty quick and let us know he was ready for his second piece.

We love you sweet, sweet boy!!!
