Justin wasn't always into going on walks for fun. I had to break him into them while we dated & now it's one of our favorite things to do. Especially in one of our favorite cities.
We landed in Berlin the afternoon of December 24, feeling very weird since we left Utah the morning of December 23. Christmas Eve was practically over and we were exhausted. We spent the evening with half-unpacked suitcases scattered in our apartment, two parents half-asleep on the bed, and one baby half-holding a phone watching Miss Rachel, since what's an extra 30 minutes after watching for 10 hours on an airplane? Ha!
We had considered our time spent with family all of the Christmas we needed. Christmas Day looked like sleeping in until 11 AM then going back to bed at 2 PM for a 3 hour nap!! Man, the time change was such a hard adjustment & all of us had some pretty severe colds going on.
The day after Christmas, we were feeling a little better & Justin surprised me by saying, "Let's go on a night walk!" at 6:30 PM. (Which felt like 9 PM since the sun sets at 3:30 PM around here).
We were all happy to get some fresh air and go for a night walk. It was fairly warm for December & I snapped this picture as we crossed our favorite river.
The river was a dividing line between East and West Berlin during the Cold War.
Now, it's a peaceful place where we come often. & looks beautiful in the night light!
